featured artist: Michelle Allen and the Slick Allen Trio
Deeply influenced by Blues, Bluegrass, Folk, Alt-country, Acoustic Rock and Old Time roots music, most of the Slick Allen Trios music doesn't fit neatly into a musical category. A veteran of the front-range Bluegrass band Little Liza Jane, Michelle's original tunes continue a remarkable creative evolution establishing Allen as a musical icon in the front range area. Although truly a sensitive singer-songwriter, the title fails to fully convey the depth of her songwriting or power of her soulful voice. Paired with Kevin Slick, on banjo, mandolin and guitar and Jay Allen on upright Bass, the trio combines the best of traditional roots with contemporary creativity.
